Theory Test

Before you can book your Practical Driving Test, you need to have passed your Theory Test. The Theory Test comprises two parts:

Questions on the Highway Code

This part of the test has 50 multiple choice questions based on the Highway Code. You need to get 43 correct answers to pass. You have 57 minutes to do it.

Hazard Perception Test

The Hazard Perception Test comprises 14 video clips of about a minute each. 13 of the clips contain one hazard each. One of the clips contains two hazards. You need to click the right or left mouse button as soon as you see a hazard developing. Your score is based on the speed at which you click the mouse button and can be from 0 to 5 for each hazard. Therefore the maximum you can score is 75. The pass mark is 44.
